Privacy Policy
What personal data GetSourceDirect collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to have it corrected or removed. This document describes the platform as it operates today.
1. Information We Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email address, WhatsApp number) when you register as a buyer or business on GetSourceDirect.
- Business information including company name, country, products or services offered, production capacity, and certifications.
- Technical data including IP addresses, browser type, operating system, device type, and pages visited for analytics and security purposes. IP addresses are stored only as a one-way SHA-256 hash.
- Transaction data when orders are placed through the platform (once payment processing is active).
- Communication data when you contact us via WhatsApp, email, or our platform messaging system.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your buyer or business account on the platform.
- To route a buyer inquiry to the business that buyer chose, and to allow that business to reply.
- To carry out our internal review of a business registration and profile, and to issue the Verified Badge where the paid review is completed.
- To send account emails such as address confirmation. Order confirmations and tracking updates do not exist yet, because orders are not placed or processed through the platform.
- To analyse website traffic and improve our platform using anonymised analytics data.
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse on the platform.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. IP Address Collection
- GetSourceDirect collects IP addresses from all visitors to the platform for security, fraud prevention, and analytics purposes.
- IP addresses are stored securely and are only accessible to GetSourceDirect administrators.
- IP addresses are used to determine approximate geographic location (country and city level only) for analytics.
- IP addresses are never sold to third parties or used for advertising purposes.
- You may request deletion of your IP data by contacting us at omairkaludi@gmail.com.
4. Information Sharing
- We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
- Buyer contact details are used only to route the inquiry you choose to send to a seller. They are never published on the platform and are not shown to other buyers.
- Business profile information that you choose to make public will be visible to buyers browsing the platform.
- We may share data with service providers who assist in operating our platform (Hostinger for hosting and database storage) under strict data processing agreements. No payment processor is currently engaged because no payments are processed.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of GetSourceDirect and its users.
5. Data Security
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
- Access to user data is restricted by server-side authorization checks; the database is never reachable directly from a browser.
- GetSourceDirect does not process card or bank payments today, so no payment information is collected or stored by the platform. Payment details, if any, are handled directly between you and the business.
- We regularly review our security practices to protect against unauthorised access.
6. Cookies
- GetSourceDirect uses essential cookies required for authentication and session management.
- We use analytics tracking to understand how visitors use our platform. This does not include advertising cookies.
- You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect platform functionality.
7. Your Rights
- You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- You have the right to correct inaccurate personal data.
- You have the right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal obligations.
- You have the right to withdraw consent for data processing at any time.

8. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Transaction records are retained for 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.
- Analytics data is retained for 12 months.
- Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
9. Changes to This Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on the platform.
- Continued use of GetSourceDirect after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
